Postseason stats should be formally measured for Value (WAR, WAA).
Value (WAR, WAA) would need to be estimated.
Would result in slightly less accuracy than regular season stats.
Preferable to not measuring Postseason Value at all.
Would enhance understanding of player careers.
Would give a reasonable measure of Value, rather than ignoring, relying on partial data, or anecdotal information.
Assist with understanding the career significance of postseason performance.
Bill James once proposed a 3X weight for Postseason Value.
BBWAA HOF Voting
Induction threshold should be 50%.
Current Induction Threshold is 75% of all Ballots cast.
Almost all players that reach 50% are eventually inducted in some fashiond.
Reduce need for band-aid committees and methods of selecting HOF players.
Induction would happen much earlier for many players.
Eliminate Vote Limit Rule
Voters can only vote for a maximum of 10 players on each Ballot.
Backlogs force voters to decide who is more worthy, rather than the proper question: whether a specific player is worthy.
Votes used to keep a player on the Ballot.
Eliminate One-and-Done
Less than 5% of votes eliminates player from future Ballots.
Examples where the current system is NOT working

Sabermetricians should be more involved in the HOF selection process.
More objectivity.
On the cutting edge of properly measuring player Value.
Will always be ahead of BBWAA membership regarding historical analysis.

Pete Rose
John Dowd, MLB investigator, said of Pete Rose, "He placed his financial interest ahead of the Reds, period."
Per ESPN regarding Pete Rose, "The documents obtained by Outside the Lines, which reflect betting records from March through July 1986, show no evidence that Rose, who was a player-manager in 1986, bet against his team."
Obviously, MLB's rules allow no gambling [MLB Rule 21 (d) (2)]. Still, John Dowd's statement does not appear accurate.
It appears that Rose placed his financial interest inline with the Reds.
When considering team owners and their actions, are their financial interests always inline with their team's interests?
I'm sure those smarter than me could list examples where an owner's financial interests were put ahead of their team's.
Has there never been an owner that prioritized profits over a competitive team?
Has there never been an owner that pocketed Revenue Sharing without reinvesting that money back into the team?
David Ortiz
David Ortiz IN ... on his 1st Ballot ... as a DH!
So many others connected to PEDs OUT!
The "leaked" 2003 MLB steroid list includes David Ortiz and 102 others.
This list also includes Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Rafael Palmeiro, Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez.
This is the Eager to Condemn List of NON-Hall of Famers.
But, this list also includes Roberto Alomar, Adrian Beltre, Todd Helton, Pedro Martinez and Ivan Rodriguez.
This is the Eager to Forgive List of Hall of Famers.
Was it just unlucky that you were caught up in a court case or hearing, federally investigated and forced to make statements under oath?
Does anyone really think PED use was limited to just a couple dozen players, and that only these should be punished? Or do you think the 103 players on the "leaked" list represent a conservative number?
Or, is it all just about Dislike?
Curt Schilling
I DON'T believe Gambling after your career would keep you from the Hall Of Fame.
I DON'T believe PEDs after your career would keep you from the Hall Of Fame.
I DO believe Dislike after your career would keep you from the Hall Of Fame.
Two of these things are not like the other.
Apparently, HOF voters need to like someone to elect them (and that goes for you, Ron Santo, and you too, Dick Allen).
